Be informed and be aware. Sara Privett of Facestation Modeling & Casting Agency recently closed her doors and disconnected her phones. She opened her business in 2002 and was pretty good about paying her models/talent for jobs performed for 4 yrs or so. She still called models out to sets and the corporations paid her. She, in turn, was supposed to pay the models. She never paid the models. As models started calling her for their money she would play the sweet innocent game of "I am really working on it". Well, after many months of not paying she finally decided to close her doors and take all our money. She has walked away with thousands of dollars. Many have decided to not take her to small claims since that is another expense to incur and, yes we would each be granted a judgement against her but shes claiming bankruptcy. So...we will never get our money. We have no idea where our money went but we know that none of us have had any luck getting paid. She also ran what many perceive as a scam. She requested that many of the models update headshots etc. Once those were done and she was paid for that service she never updated her webpage. So, essentially she took that money and ran too! Be cautious and do not trust this woman!! She will reopen under a new name at some point! |
