My son, who is now 16, they claimed was "commercial/model material" when he was 4. I paid and took the child to "training" for at least 3 mos... Every week we sat in line, auditioned, sometimes paid... They said he needed more training, which made sense... After all, they did say "you can have talent, but you need to learn how to use it." Unfortunately, I moved away from Rockville. Bottom line, I had "paid up" for 10 more sessions, ($1300) moved far from Rockville... No refund, no support, no suggestions. |

john Robert Powers is Amazing! They helped my daughter get signed by 2 agents at the showcase! She started with promotional modeling. She has done voice over work, and has landed 3 commercial print jobs. I was looking them up for my friend and seen all these bad reviews and it makes me sad. I know that not every one makes it but. It has changed our lives. My daughter is paying for her own college and has been able to help me and my wife through hard times. |

When I was 12 years old I wanted to do some modeling and I did some research for a modeling/acting place in my area: Salt Lake City. I came across there website and told my dad about it and he told me to set an appointment with them.I did and I met this guy at their building and he asked for 1300 upfront and said I was too short for runway but to train for commercials. My dad paid the money and this guy scheduled me to come in every Tuesday and Thursday and one day I was sick and couldn't come in but I came the mext time I was scheduled and they had conepletely UP AND MOVED WITHOUT TELLING ANYONE! We tried calling, leaving voice mails.. Everything. They took our money and left! This place sucks and is a scam I feel I sorry for any poor soul who has falling for this terrible places scam.

Anyone who has anything bad to say about John Robert Powers Acting and Modeling is probably a parent of an untalented child. My son has been a student at John Robert Powers for 2 years and we've had nothing but a great experience. He currently has an agent in Hollywood, and agent here in Virginia as well as a manager who is working on getting him an agent in New York. He has auditioned for major motion pictures and has come down to the top two for the part. He has been in a few local commercials and continues to go to auditions. Yes, there are other local schools that are cheaper and will give your child training in acting or modeling or singing or dancing. JRP is the only one that trains in all areas, as well as life skills/image. JRP is also the only school that brings in real agents, managers and casting directors while the kids train. All you have to do is check them out on the web and you'll see that these people are legit. If your child is truly talented than they will make it at JRP. Don't let the ranting of some angry parent who pushed their child into this industry keep you from checking it out. Find out for yourself. |
