Model Agency UK Absolute scam!! Money takers! Please no one go to NYC Studios (Manchester, Shoreditch or any other branch) I should've known better as I'm 21 but I went to have some photos taken back in Feb 2016. Got to the place in Shoreditch and it was a tiny compact studio in the some basement. Took the photos which lasted about 10 minutes. Went to have a look at the pictures afterwards to be told I was successful. By this point I was too happy and excited (gullible) that I agreed to pay for the photos but I didn't realise they wanted £600 until I got home. What was strange was the guy who took my payment details down asked how much I earned and asked if I paid rent or mortgage, insurance etc and basically calculated my income to see if I could afford to pay the photos which was wrong. Told my dad and he rang up the main studio which X is based in Manchester and the of a manager said we can't cancel cause I've signed a contract bla bla. Now if I'm not mistaken I thought with any contract you're allowed a 14 day cooling off period where you could cancel that but not with this agency. In the end they reduced the payment to about £580 which is still a lot of money. THEN I thought I was paying for prints so when I rang up again apparently I didn't ask for prints just a disc with pictures on. So I basically paid £500 odd quid for a disc with pictures on which I was livid about. In fairness it was my fault and I should've listened and paid attention to these sort of things but it was my first time doing something like that and I was just excited. But this is still a scam in my opinion...that's they're way bringing you in and you can't back out. So anyone who goes to these things PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE read the contract carefully before you end up paying £600 for a disc with pictures. |

Went to Birmingham studio only to realise that it was a total scam. Waited for almost a hour before my child had photos taken & then was advised that we had to wait to view photos & be told whether child was successful or not. When I questioned this both photographer & other staff got quite defensive saying it was normal procedure, they basically made out that if we didn't view pictures my child wouldn't be selected. At this point I realised that it was a scam & they were only interested in us viewing the photos so could sell to us. My child is already with a reputable agency and has been for past couple of years & I know from them that is NOT normal procedure. A parent does not choose the photos the agency wish to use on there website. The photographer had no tact at all & his behaviour towards my child was unacceptable. Staff were rude & very unprofessional at this studio. This agency is a total SCAM & should be avoided at all cost. |

Disgusting disgusting . Spent 4 hours in a gruby room. With my daughter waiting for her pictures to be taken. She was over the moon that she had been excepted. However since informing model agency that I wouldn't be spending 999 pound on photographs and would send my own portfolio. Literally have not heard from them since.Daughter ment to be employed by them . But they have had no contact with me since I refused photos. They are ripping people off. And ruining little children's dreams.Disgusting company. They should be banned from fb/ instagram/ twitter. |

Having seen an advertisement on Facebook for M0dels agency, I thought I'd give it a go for my child not thinking too deeply about being accepted. I received a reply from them within a day saying my child was invited to a photo shoot at the well known Shoreditch studios that week. Thankfully I did a little research beforehand and read up that they keep changing their name and how they *** people out of money. I contacted this agency with my concerns and relieved a mouthful of abuse from them stating that I should reapply to the agencies that had rejected my child ( which to date are none as never applied before this) they also said that I am pushing my child into an industry that I clearly do not trust. Thankfully I was not conned by this agency but the more bad reviews they receive surely the better for our kids. This is child exploitation and should not be allowed in our country |

I took my two boys on 1.4.16 for a test shoot in Manchester. If im honest i only took them for a day out as they were off school for easter. We waited around for ages and they were getting restless so i decided to leave when i was the approched by a staf member and taken through for the shoot. The male photographer was rude and awful with the kids baring in mind they are only 4 and 9 and nevwr done anything like this before. Like everyone else we waited around for ages to be then taken into a very small back enclosed side room and told my boys had done a fantastic shoot and the agency really wanted to work with them! But i needed a portfolio for each of them which would set me back £800, i laughed at him and said no way was i prepared to pay that kind of money so he quickly dropped £100 off the price and said i could pay monthly, again i refused and his attitude totally changed towards he was trying his hardest to put pressure on me to purchase. I would say he was practically using bulllying tactics to try and get me to buy the pictures. I have worked in sales for years and fortunatley could see right through him. Im lucky my boys are too young to understand what happened and didn't have their dreams crushed. All the staf are rude and extremely arrogant. And to top off a rubbish day we got stuck in the lift on the way out! I feel like going standing outside the building which is called studio 44 and warning people on the way in. I really do hope someone like trading standards looks into these horrible rip off merchants. |

I visited the Bristol branch yesterday it was horrendous people everywhere even sitting on the floor my sons photos were outstanding but then got told for 35 photos it was £999 and that he had to have them to get work with the agency alarm bells started ringing and I said I would go away and speak to my husband and the woman said I can't guarantee the photos will still be here if you leave without paying a deposit. The studio was very shabby and dirty a real back street place no parking and the postcode they give you doesn't actually take you there and when I rang she told me to remove the postcode and follow her directions STAY CLEAR !!!!! |
